A letter from Azerbaijani hostage Shahbaz Guliyev: “Do not worry, I am alive”

Shahbaz Guliyev, Azerbaijani citizen, who was taken hostage by Armenians in Kalbajar, sent a letter to his family.

His brother Ilham Guliyev reported to Azvision.az about it. According to him, Shahbaz wrote in his letter that he is alive: “The Shahbaz’s letter was given to us 20 days ago. My brother in his letter wrote that he is alive, and that we should not be worried, everything is good. The letter consists of about a few sentences. This time they did not give us a video. The letter was written by Shahbaz’s own signature”.

Recall that in July 2014 Russian citizen Dilgam Asgarov and Azerbaijani citizen Shahbaz Guliyev were taken hostage by Armenian soldiers while trying to visit their fatherland in Kalbajar region, Azerbaijani citizen Hasan Hasanov was shot dead. Hasanov’s body was taken from enemy and was buried in Baku.

An illegal “court” on the Dilgam Asgarov and Shahbaz Quliyev has been set up in the occupied Nagorno-Karabakh. By the decision of the “court”, Dilgam Asgarov was sentenced to life imprisonment and Shahbaz Guliyev was sentenced to 22 years in prison.
