Karen Kazarian’s family members met with minister David Tonoyan: “Exchange our son with Azerbaijani hostages”

Hostages.az reports that on November 29, Armenian Defense Minister, Head of the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons David Tonoyan received members of the intelligence-diversant Karen Kazarian, who was detained in Azerbaijan. During the meeting, Karen Kazarian’s family members expressed concern over his son’s detention and trial in Azerbaijan.
Minister David Tonoyan said that if they are working with international organizations in order to get Karen Kazarian back from Azerbaijan and hope for the “humanist” step of Azerbaijan. Interestingly, David Tonoyan said that the exchange of Armenian diversants with Azerbaijani hostages would not be a subject of discussion. But Karen Kazarian’s family members insisted that their son to be exchanged with Azerbaijani hostages and demanded from Armenian minister to return Karen Kazarian to Armenia in all cases.
Note that, the trial of Karen Armenovich Kazarian, citizen of the Republic of Armenia, who has attempted to commit terrorist act in Azerbaijan, has already begun. Karen Kazarian, with criminal case 1 (100) -315/2018, is charged with several articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Armenian diversant Karen Kazarian, charged with crimes against life and health, crimes in economic activity, crimes against social security, crimes against the basis of the constitutional structure and the security of the state, and administrative offenses, is provided with a free lawyer and 3 armenian language translators by the Azerbaijani state.
